The dangers of anti-globalization

A lecture on some current trends and lessons learned from the past before we retreat too far from an open, global trading system

This is a lecture I delivered in the course of an e-symposium organized by Trends Research and Advisory in Abu Dhabi, on the subject of Reopening of the National and Global Economies: The Lessons Learned.

Basically it offers a recap of how we got to the place we are now, with many people in advanced industrialized countries questioning the wisdom of the relentless drive to ever increasing degrees of economic integration between economies and markets that has been the driving force behind globalization since the late 1940s.
